Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Harris County

According to news reports, the driver who hit the man has been arrested and may face as much as 20 years in prison. March 13, 2019 – 5:20 am: A pedestrian was killed near Spring in Harris County early on Wednesday morning. Shane Allen Fischer, 31, is accused of hitting the man and leaving him for dead. He faces a second-degree felony charge of failure to stop and render aid, and faces up to 20 years in prison. The accident happened early on Wednesday morning on the 4500 block of Treaschwig Road. Fischer reportedly ran the man down on the road and hit him, speeding away from the scene of the accident after the crash. Police were able to track him down quickly because pieces of his vehicle were left at the site and could be traced back to him. The man who was killed in the crash has not been publicly identified at this time. Police say they are also looking for a wrecker driver who reportedly drove up to the site of the crash moments after it happened and sped away without checking on the man who was hit. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
