Child Seriously Injured in Crash Between Vehicle and 4-Wheeler

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, it appears as though the vehicle ran a red light, striking the 4-wheeler.

June 2, 2019 – 2:31 pm: A child has been taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital after being hit while riding a 4-wheeler in Harris County on Sunday afternoon.
The accident took place on Begonia Lane in the Highlands area.

The crash took place when two vehicles are believed to have run a stop sign. According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, one of the vehicles was following the other closely for some reason. One of the vehicles hit the child, who was crossing the intersection on a 4-wheeler.

The extent of the child’s injuries has not been made public at this time, but reports state that the child was airlifted by LifeFlight medical helicopter from the scene of the accident.

The driver who hit the child was not injured in the accident. Neither the child nor the driver has been publicly identified at this time. The driver was not injured in the accident.

The cause of the accident is unclear at this time, and investigation into the crash is still currently ongoing.
