Woman Killed in Crash Involving Suspected Drunk Driver

According to news reports, the woman was expected to survive when she arrived at the hospital, but she died shortly after arrival.

 

January 1, 2019 – 2:00 am: An unidentified woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision involving a suspected drunk driver. The suspected drunk driver has also been hospitalized at this time.

The accident took place on the feeder road between Tidwell and Airline, where both vehicles were heading southbound at the time of the accident.

Both the woman and the other driver were taken to a local hospital. Police originally thought both drivers had received non-life-threatening injuries, but the woman died in the hospital in the night.

The suspected drunk driver, who has not been publicly identified at this time, reportedly showed signs of intoxication when police arrived on the scene. However, it does not appear that any charges have been filed against the driver at this time.

Police investigation into the accident was delayed for a time due to heavy fog at the scene of the crash. Whether or not this fog could have been a contributing factor in the crash has not been specified at this time.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
