May 20, 2019 – 11:30 am: A woman was killed Monday morning in a crash involving a water truck and a silver GMC Sierra in northwest Houston. The woman has not been identified at this time, but police reports state that she was a 79-year-old passenger on the Sierra.

The crash took place at the intersection of the Highway 290 feeder road and North Gessner Road. The water truck was headed westbound on the feeder road when the driver ran a red light, hitting the northbound Sierra on the passenger’s side. The Sierra then hit a gold Toyota Avalon headed southbound.

The woman was killed in the crash, and all three drivers have been hospitalized with unspecified injuries. None of the victims of the accident have been publicly identified at the present time.
No charges have been filed in connection with the crash at this time, but it appears clear that the driver of the water truck was at fault in the accident, having run the red light. The accident is still under investigation at the present time.
