Conroe High Volleyball Team Injured in School Bus Crash

According to news reports, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf that hit the school bus is likely to be charged with felony intoxication assault.

October 12, 2018 – 9:00 pm: Seven students were injured when a Volkswagen hit the side of the school bus they were riding in on Friday night.

The accident took place in The Woodlands, near the corner of Gosling Road and Research Forest Drive. The bus from Conroe ISD was carrying 34 Conroe High School volleyball players at the time of the accident, where it was T-boned by a blue Volkswagen.

Four of the students were injured badly enough to be taken to the hospital, while three others experienced minor injuries.

The day after the accident, the Conroe High volleyball team tweeted, “Although last night events was terrifying (sic), all of the players and coaches are home safe. We definitely had angels watching over us. Please continue to pray for those still recovering.”

The bus driver and the driver of the Volkswagen were both uninjured in the crash.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Erik Burse reports that the driver of the Volkswagen is likely to be charged with felony intoxication assault as a result of the crash.

The accident is still under investigation.
