Two Killed in New Caney Crash

According to investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety, one of the drivers involved in the crash was engulfed in flames and died.

March 31, 2019 – 3:00 am: Two people were killed and one was seriously injured in a crash that took place near Lake Houston Wilderness Park very early on Sunday morning.

The crash took place about 30 miles north of downtown Houston, near the intersection of FM-1485 and Ada Lane in East Montgomery County.

A Chevrolet Camaro hit a Dodge Ram pickup truck head-on near the intersection. According to investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Camaro burst into flames. The driver, whose identity has not been released at this time, was killed in the flames and pronounced dead on the scene.

Collen Skelly, 22, was the driver of the Dodge pickup truck involved in the crash. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died a short time after his arrival. A passenger in the truck, 22-year-old Michael Longoria, has also been hospitalized and was in serious condition as of 11:41 a.m. on Sunday morning.

The cause of the accident is still unknown, and investigation into the crash is ongoing.
