According to news reports, the accident took place in northwestern Harris County, about 34 miles northwest of Houston.
December 31, 2018 – 8:15 pm: Two people were killed in a collision between a truck and a golf cart that took place in Hockley, Texas on Monday night.
The crash took place along the shoulder of Kermier, near the intersection with FM 2920. This was on an unlit section of the road.
The accident took place when a pickup truck hit the rear end of the golf cart. Both vehicles were headed northbound at the time of the crash.
There were three men in the golf cart at the time of the accident. Two of them were killed and one of them was able to jump from the cart. The man who jumped from the cart was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
The identity of the driver of the pickup and those killed in the accident has not been made available at this time.
No charges are expected to be filed in this crash, and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the event. The crash is still under investigation.
