One Dead in a Three-Vehicle Crash in Leander

According to police reports, two others were injured in the accident that killed one of the people involved.

October 24, 2018 – 4:00 pm: One unidentified person was killed and two others were injured in a three-car collision that took place Wednesday afternoon near Leander.

The accident took place on Leander Road in Leander, in the area of Garey Park, roughly a mile east of Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

The identity of the person killed in the crash has not been released at this time, nor have those of the two people injured in the accident. However, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office reports that the injured individuals experienced only minor wounds.

Leander road was shut down in both directions “for a while,” according to the Sheriff’s Office. Investigation and cleanup in major crashes can take several hours. As of shortly before 5:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, there were no estimates of when the road would be reopening.

Drivers were advised to take State Highway 29 or Interstate 35 during the period when Leander Road was closed.

There is no word on the cause of the accident. This crash is still being investigated at this time.
