The crash took place in the HOV lane of the Southwest Freeway. A pickup truck was stalled in the lane when a black Chevrolet Tahoe hit the vehicle.

The pickup was seriously damaged, while the Tahoe flipped onto its side and eventually came to a rest about 30 feet away from the pickup truck.

Three people were trapped in the vehicles, including one infant. METRO officials had to remove them from the vehicles in order to free them and take them to the hospital.
