News reports state that the crash left car parts scattered across the road, but only one person was hospitalized as a result.
September 16, 2018 – 4:00 am: An as-yet unidentified individual was injured in a dramatic three-car collision on Sunday morning.
The accident took place at the intersection of Gessner and Clay. A blue Fiat passenger car ran a red light, pulling out in front of two other cars headed north on Clay. One of the vehicles hit the Fiat, sending it spinning and pushing it into a Ford Mustang in another lane.
After the accident, HPD officers were called onto the scene. They found that the Fiat driver was trapped inside his vehicle. The driver had to be removed by paramedics and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Despite the massive wreckage and serious vehicle damage, the Fiat driver was the only person injured in the three-car crash.
Police say that the accident was caused by the driver pulling out in front of traffic. Despite the early hour and the fact that the accident took place on the weekend, alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident.
