Passenger Injured When Driver Flees Arrest

News reports state that the driver was arrested after fleeing arrest and crashing with three passengers in his vehicle.

September 20, 2018 – 9:30 pm: A woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the driver of the vehicle she was in fled police and crashed his car into a light post.

The accident took place on the 6400 block of Bellfort, near Robert C. Stuart Park. The driver lost control of the vehicle and knocked out a light post, crossed the median, and hit a tree before coming to a stop.

Police had attempted to pull the driver over for traffic violations on Interstate 45. The man driving the Buick sedan chose to flee police, heading for Bellfort, where he ultimately crashed the car.

After the accident, the driver was taken into custody. He first jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but police caught him and arrested him. He was taken to the hospital with injuries suffered in the crash.

The three passengers in the vehicle, including the injured woman, were released. The injured woman was taken to a local hospital, where she is being treated for minor injuries.
