One Killed, Three Injured in Forney Accident

According to news reports, the man killed in the accident was pronounced dead at the scene.

February 19, 2019 – 4:00 pm: The 25-year-old James Fortner of Forney, Texas was killed in a crash that took place on Tuesday afternoon. Two vehicles were involved in the accident, in which one other adult and two children received non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash took place on State Highway 34, less than a mile from FM 1390, between Scurry and Rosser. Fortner was headed northbound in a yellow Chevy pickup on SH 34 at the time of the crash, while a Chevy Camaro was headed southbound.

For unknown reasons, the two vehicles hit head-on. Fortner died in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Staff Sergeant Kyle Bradford of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The driver of the Camaro and two children onboard the vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The children were taken to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, while the driver was taken to Dallas Presbyterian Hospital.

The cause of the crash is still unknown at this time. DPS is still investigating the crash and its causes at the present moment.
