January 8, 2019 – 9:00 pm: The 22-year-old Antonio Reese of West Point, Mississippi, was killed in an accident that took place Tuesday night in Midland, Texas. His passenger, 23-year-old Lorico Lane, was taken to the hospital with what have been described as non-incapacitating injuries.

The accident took place when Reese was driving a pickup truck westbound on Interstate 20, about four miles west of Midland.

According to troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident took place when Reese turned his truck into the path of an 18-wheeler that was also headed westbound at the time. The vehicle hit Reese’s truck.

Reese was pronounced dead at the scene once state troopers arrived. Lane has been taken to a hospital in Midland and is expected to recover. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured in the accident.

Traffic in the area of the accident was stopped for a time while police investigated the crash. At this time, the cause of the crash appears to have been the fact that Reese swerved the pickup into the path of the 18-wheeler. The crash is still under investigation.
