Montgomery County Deputy Injured When Truck Hits Patrol Car

According to Sheriff Rand Henderson, both the driver of the truck and the deputy have been hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.

April 16, 2019 – 11:00 pm: A serious crash that took place on Tuesday night left a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy and the driver of a truck injured. The extent of their injuries has not been made public at this time, but in a tweet on Tuesday night, Sheriff Rand Henderson asked residents to “Please keep them both in your prayers.”

The crash took place near Porter, Texas, along Highway 59 near the intersection with FM 1314.

The cause of the accident is unclear at this time, but police report that the Deputy’s patrol car was hit from behind. It is possible that the Deputy’s car was stopped on the side of the freeway, but at this time this has not been confirmed.

The driver of the truck and the Deputy were both taken to the hospital. Their conditions and their identities have not been made public at the present time.

Northbound lanes of Highway 59 were shut down for some time after the crash took place. Investigation is still ongoing at this time.
