Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Almeda Road

According to Houston Police Officers, the driver who hit the father of three has been taken into custody for a possible DWI.

May 24, 2019 – 10:45 pm: Walter Davis Jr., 45, was killed while crossing the street on Friday night in southeast Houston. Police reports state that the man was a father of three.
The accident took place on Almeda Road in southeast Houston.

The man was hit while crossing the street. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver who hit him was allegedly drunk and has been taken into custody for a possible DWI. The driver has not been identified to the public at this time, and the driver was not injured in the crash.

While officers worked the scene, their patrol car was hit by another alleged drunk driver. This driver has not been publicly identified either, and there is no word on whether the driver will be facing charges, or which charges those will be.

The accident is still under investigation at the present time. Police are not certain that the crash was caused by alcohol use, although that appears to be the most likely explanation.
