Texas DPS is investigating the accident, which took place on State Highway 21.

August 21, 2018 – 12:00 pm: Derrick Green of Bryan was airlifted to CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in serious condition after striking a dump truck in the rear just before noon on Tuesday.

The accident took place on State Highway 21 in Brazos County, near Bryan. Green’s 2014 Dodge pickup struck a 1999 Mack dump truck in the rear, catching fire after the collision. Derrick Green was trapped in his vehicle while it burned, causing serious burn injuries and leading to the necessity of the airlift.
