Man Arrested for DWI after Fatal Crash

August 27, 2018

Police report that the driver who was killed failed to yield the right of way.

August 27, 2018 – 2:00 am: A 35-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in a crash at 601 Mount Houston Road in north Harris County.

The driver of a black Ford Mustang was leaving a private parking lot when Hugo Flores, 29, driving a white Dodge Challenger, hit the vehicle. The Mustang rolled over, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was later taken to the hospital, where he eventually died.

Flores was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the accident and has since been arrested for his second DWI. Nonetheless, existing police reports appear to assign the Mustang driver fault for the accident. Flores may have been driving at high speed, but at this time it appears that the Mustang driver did not yield the right of way.

Flores pled guilty to his first charge of driving while intoxicated in May 2015. He has been arrested and charged for the second time. At this point, the only charge against him is the misdemeanor charge of a second-time DWI. He was released on $2,000 bond on Monday.
