September 13, 2018

News reports state that police initially believed the woman was a victim of a hit-and-run accident, but her injuries were found to be inconsistent with an auto-pedestrian accident.

September 13, 2018 – 11:00 pm: A woman was found by the side of the road, dying by the side of S. Gessner near Gustine late Thursday night. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Houston Police Department officers responded to reports that there was a woman lying by the side of the road. They found her with only a slight pulse, and she barely survived the trip to the hospital.

When police arrived on the scene, they first thought she was the victim of a hit-and-run accident with a vehicle, but the medical examination at the hospital found that her wounds were not consistent with that type of accident. The case has been turned over to HPD homicide detectives, although the cause of the woman’s death is still uncertain at this time.

If the woman’s death was a homicide, investigators admit that they have little to go on. The accident is still under investigation for now, although police state that they’re not sure what happened to the woman.
