According to the homeowner, this is the second time his home has been hit by a vehicle.
April 13, 2019 – 10:30 pm: A driver was injured when he drove an SUV into a house while intoxicated on Saturday night. The family of three was not harmed in the crash.
The home is located just off the feeder road to Highway 59.
The homeowner, Miguel Fajardo, was awake and on the computer in the guest bedroom when the white GMC Yukon crashed into the room. Fortunately, he was not injured, and his wife and 12-year-old daughter also survived unscathed.
The driver was found passed out in front of Fajardo’s front door. He was hospitalized and tested for intoxication.
Fajardo reports that this is the second time a vehicle has crashed into his home, the first time being a crash that took place in 2009.
He says he has been trying to get the Texas Department of Transportation to put up a sound barrier and a barrier to block cars from hitting his home. All of the other homes along the feeder already have a noise barrier.
It is unclear why Fajardo’s home does not have a barrier for protection.
