Driver Killed in Crash With 18-Wheeler

According to reports, one of the drivers ran a red light, leading to the fatal accident.

May 17, 2019 – 3:00 am: The driver of a black sedan was killed in a crash with an 18-wheeler that took place early on Friday morning. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not harmed in the accident.

The crash took place in the Energy Corridor, on the Katy Freeway service road at Highway 6. The 18-wheeler was headed eastbound on the freeway, while the driver of the sedan was headed northbound on Highway 6.

One of the drivers ran a red light, although at this time it is unclear which of them did so. The sedan T-boned the 18-wheeler, causing it to turn 180 degrees. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no one else was injured in the accident. Neither the driver of the sedan nor that of the 18-wheeler has been publicly identified at this time.

The cause of the accident is unclear at this time, although police state that speeding was a factor in the accident, judging by the force of the impact in the crash.
