According to police, the driver was pinned inside his vehicle and had to be pulled out by firefighters after the crash.
April 9, 2019 – 4:00 am: A driver was injured early on Tuesday morning when his vehicle rolled off of the freeway, landing upside-down on the feeder road in southwest Houston.
The crash happened on the Southwest Freeway, near Hillcroft.
The man, who has not been publicly identified at this time, was travelling southbound when he hit a barrier. This caused him to hit a metal pole, which sent his vehicle airborne. It fell off of the freeway and onto the feeder road, landing upside down in a heap.
The driver was trapped in his vehicle, and firefighters had to work to free him in order to take him to the hospital.
Police are not sure what caused the crash, or what the circumstances were leading up to it. There is no information available about the driver’s current condition at this time. The extent of the man’s injuries has not been made public.
