Driver Dies After Hitting Tree with SUV

According to the police, it is unclear what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle on Thursday morning.

May 2, 2019 – 5:30 am: One driver was killed in a single-vehicle accident that took place on Thursday morning in east Houston. Police are still investigating, and the cause of the crash is unclear at this time.

The accident took place in the median at Richmond and Longfield, according to Metro Video.

For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. The SUV hit the tree with enough force that the side of the vehicle wrapped around the tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident when emergency responders arrived at the crash site. The driver has not been publicly identified at the present time, and police say it is still unclear why the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the crash.

There is no word at this time on whether alcohol was or was not a factor in the accident. Police are still investigating the accident, and more information will be made available to the public as it comes to light.
