Crash in Port Arthur Kills Houston Man

News reports state that another man was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

September 11, 2018 – 9:03 pm: One man is dead and another is injured after a crash in Port Arthur on Tuesday night.

Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) reports state that the accident took place on the 3500 block of S. MLK, and they received word of the accident soon afterward.

When they arrived on the scene, PAPD officers found the body of a 78-year-old man in the middle of the roadway. A Justice of the Peace later arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene. Although the man’s identity has not yet been released, the report confirms that the man was from Houston.

The other party in the crash was a 57-year-old male from Helotes, Texas. He was taken to the Southeast Texas Medical Center, reportedly with non-life-threatening injuries. Although his city of origin has been released, the man’s identity has not been made public yet.

The Port Arthur Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is currently leading the investigation. At this time, they have not made any definitive statements regarding the cause of the crash.
