City Employee Injured in 4-Vehicle Accident

According to news reports, the driver responsible for the crash fled the scene, and police are still searching for the vehicle.

 

November 13, 2018 – 11:50 pm: A city employee was injured in a four-vehicle accident that took place in north Houston late Tuesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

The accident took place when a pickup truck hit a wall in the southbound lanes of Interstate 45 at Parker.

The driver of a white SUV hit the brakes to avoid the truck, swerving to the right. A city of Houston vehicle hit the back of the SUV, and then a fourth vehicle rear-ended the city vehicle.

The driver of the pickup truck, who is at-fault in the accident according to HPD spokesperson W.T. Liu, fled the scene of the accident after it took place.

The city employee was injured in the accident and taken to the hospital after first responders arrived on the scene. No one else was injured in the crash.

Police are still looking for the driver of the pickup responsible for the accident. Investigators still do not know why the pickup hit the wall, causing the accident. The event is under investigation at this time.
