Two Killed in Wrong-Way Accident Thursday Night

According to news reports, the driver responsible for the crash faces multiple charges as a result of the accident.

October 18, 2018 – 10:05 pm: A drunk driver headed the wrong way killed two and injured two others in an accident in the Pasadena area on Thursday night.

The accident took place on the westbound lanes of SH 225, near Richey Street where 31-year-old Julio Aron Rodriguez was driving a white truck eastbound against the flow of traffic. Police had already received reports of the wrong-way driver and were on their way before the accident took place.

Rodriguez hit another vehicle head-on, killing two and injuring two others in the accident. The two survivors were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. According to police, a third vehicle was involved in the wreck, but there was only minor damage to the vehicle, and the driver only sustained minor injuries.

Rodriguez was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault. He is currently being held on a $40,000 bond in the Harris County Jail.

The identities of the victims of the accident have not been made public at this time.
