Woman Seriously Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash

According to physicians at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, the woman’s injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

May 8, 2019 – 9:24 am: A woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident that took place on Wednesday morning. She was pinned inside of her vehicle for a time and has since been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident took place on the 25000 block of West Texas 71. The Texas Department of Transportation has closed the eastbound side of the highway, near Paleface Ranch Road.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, although some investigators suspect that weather might have been a factor contributing to the accident.

The woman has not been publicly identified at this time. There was no one else in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Traffic is being diverted onto the westbound lanes of Texas 71 at this time. Drivers are advised to be careful on the wet roads while the thunderstorms are moving through.
