Woman Killed in Rollover Crash in Odessa

According to news reports, the victim was a passenger who was ejected from the vehicle after it left the roadway and began to roll.

 

January 8, 2019 – 3:49 pm: Jennifer Marie Gallego was killed in a single-vehicle accident that took place in Odessa on Tuesday afternoon. She was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash. There is no word on the condition of Greg Young, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Young was driving westbound on the 5000 block of 52nd Street in Odessa. According to police, he was passing vehicles at a high rate of speed. The vehicle slipped off of the road, rolling over several times.

Gallego was ejected from the vehicle. EMS took her to Medical Center Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. There is no word on whether or not Gallego was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Young’s condition is not available at this time.

Speeding appears to have been a contributing factor in the accident, although police state that the investigation is ongoing. There may be other causes behind the accident that will come to light in the investigation.
