One Killed, Several Injured in West Houston Crash

According to Houston Police, investigation is still underway to determine who ran a red light leading up to the fatal crash.

May 27, 2019 – 9:30 pm: A woman was killed and several others were injured in a three-car crash that took place in west Houston on Monday night. Aside from the woman, the other victims of the crash do not appear to have received life-threatening injuries.

The accident took place on Harwin near the West Sam Houston Parkway. The woman was a passenger in a Mazda that was headed eastbound on Harwin at the time of the crash.

The Mazda was hit by a northbound vehicle while crossing the intersection of Harwan and the Sam Houston Parkway feeder road. A third vehicle also hit the Mazda at a later point. Police state that someone ran a red light, but at this point it is unclear if it was the driver of the Mazda or the driver of the other vehicle.

A DWI task force was called onto the scene to check for signs of intoxication, but police have not yet commented on their results. The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time.
