Two Dead After Crash in Lubbock

According to news reports, the early morning crash closed the road at the site of the crash for several hours.

 

February 15, 2019 – 3:00 am: Two people were killed in a crash that took place in Lubbock, Texas early on Friday morning. As of 12:05 P.M. on Friday afternoon, the Lubbock Police Department has not been able to estimate when the roadway will be reopened.

The crash took place at the intersection of N. Slide and Clovis Highway.

A freight truck and a car collided in the crash. Two individuals were killed, and there is no indication of any further injuries at this time. The identities of the victims have not been made available to the public at this time.

A hazmat team was dispatched to the scene of the accident. The nature of the spill has not been made public, but it appears that cleanup is taking a considerably amount of time.

One westbound lane of Clovis Highway remains open at this time, but the intersection itself has been shut down.

Investigation into the crash is ongoing. The Lubbock Police Department will release any further information regarding the crash as soon as it becomes available.
