June 5, 2019 – 4:00 am: Six people were killed and five were critically injured in an accident that took place after an SUV smuggling migrants from El Salvador fled police in rainy conditions.

The vehicle was going too fast for conditions and went into a drainage ditch by the side of the road.

Police had been pursuing the vehicle late on Tuesday night, but they called off the chase because of rainy weather conditions. Police were not informed of the crash until about 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, and it is not clear when the crash took place.

Two people who were injured in the accident informed authorities that the crash took place. Several people were killed in the crash, and some of those who were injured had to be extracted from the vehicle.

The US Border Patrol responded to the accident because the victims were undocumented. The accident is still under investigation at this time, although speed and weather conditions appear to have contributed to the crash.
