Man Seriously Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash

According to EMS personnel, wet road conditions at the site of the accident may have been a factor leading to the man’s injuries.

April 24, 2019 – 8:00 am: One man was seriously injured in an accident that took place in Austin on Wednesday morning. According to preliminary reports, the accident took place when the man ran his truck into a pole.

The crash took place while the man was traveling southbound on South Capital of Texas Highway. He lost control of the vehicle and ran into a pole, according to a watch commander from the Austin Police Department.

Firefighters had to free the man from the vehicle, because he was trapped in the truck as a result of the accident.

There is no solid explanation for the cause of the accident at this time, although EMS are on record as saying that roads are slick in the area. Wet road conditions may have contributed to the accident.

The man has not been publicly identified at this time. He has been taken to St. David’s South Hospital in Austin with potentially serious injuries. More information will be made available to the public as it becomes available.
