2-Year-Old Killed in Apartment Parking Lot

According to police, the child’s mother ran the child over while moving into a parking space.

June 2, 2019 – 10:15 pm: A 2-year-old child was killed on Sunday night after being run over in a southeast Houston apartment complex. The child’s mother ran the child over, and police have tested the woman for intoxication. At this time, it is not clear whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

The accident took place at the parking lot of The Lodge on El Dorado apartments, on the 200 block of El Dorado Boulevard.

According to police, the mother was parking the car when her child ran after her into the parking lot. The mother did not see the child following her, turning into the parking space and hitting the child.

The child was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Neither the mother nor her child has been publicly identified at this time. The cause of the accident is not clear at this time, although police report that they tested the woman for intoxication after the incident took place.
