One Injured When Pickup Hits Utility Pole

According to reports, the road was shut down for about two and a half hours in the wake of the crash.

April 17, 2019 – 7:25 am: At least one person was hospitalized with injuries after a silver pickup truck hit a utility pole on Wednesday morning. Houston Police shut down the site of the accident for about two and a half hours, finally reopening the area just before 10:00 a.m.

The crash took place on the 4700 block of North Shepherd Drive, near the intersection with Thornton.

According to witnesses on the scene at the time of the accident, the crash took place when the driver of a silver pickup hit a utility pole. Electrical lines were knocked down and scattered across the road.

At least one person was injured in the crash and taken to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital. The individual’s name and current condition have not been made available to the public at this time.

The cause of the accident is unclear at this time. It is unknown why the driver of the pickup lost control of the vehicle and hit the utility pole. Investigation into the crash is still ongoing at the present time.
