One Dead in FM 1488 Head-On Collision

According to news reports, the crash took place in the Magnolia area on Monday morning.

 

December 3, 2018 – 10:00 am: One man is dead after a head-on collision that took place on FM 1488 on Monday morning after a 2003 BMW crossed the center line and hit a 2015 Tahoe.

The accident took place on FM 1488 in the Magnolia area, where the westbound BMW drifted into the eastbound lane of the road for unknown reasons.

After the original accident, a 2003 Cadillac, headed eastbound, struck the rear of the Tahoe.

The unidentified driver of the BMW was taken to Memorial Hermann hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Tahoe was taken to the hospital, but was released from treatment very soon afterward. The driver of the Cadillac was uninjured.

The road was shut down in both directions for about three hours after the crash took place. None of the identities of those involved have been made public at this time, although police have stated that the driver of the BMW was a 22-year-old black man, who died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The cause of the accident is still unknown, and police are still investigating the event.
