Motorcyclist Dies after Brief Police Chase

According to news reports, the motorcyclist crashed into an SUV after police attempted to stop him.

 

January 11, 2019 – 4:30 pm: An unidentified motorcyclist was killed in a crash with an SUV that took place as he attempted to flee police on Friday afternoon. The reason the man was being stopped has not been released at this time.

The accident took place near the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Monroe, near Houston Hobby Airport. This was on the 7400 block of Monroe Boulevard, in Harris County.

Police attempted to stop the man, who was heading north on Monroe at the time. The deputy from Harris County Precinct 2 states that the man hit a Chevrolet SUV in the intersection as it was changing lanes.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident. No one on the SUV was seriously injured in the crash.

Police have not commented on the reason why the man was being stopped, and it is also unclear at this time why the man chose to flee police instead of cooperating. The man’s identity has not been made public at this time.

The event is still under investigation at this time.
