Police report that the man was found shot in his vehicle after a crash, although the cause of his wounds remains unknown at this time.
August 21, 2018: A man was found shot after a single-vehicle crash on the 22300 block of North Freeway on Tuesday evening.
The vehicle was found near the Grand Parkway feeder road in north Harris County.
When police from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene of the accident, they found that the man had been shot in the stomach. He was rushed to a hospital, but HCSO Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland reports that he died of his wounds very soon afterward.
At this point it is unknown whether the man was shot by someone else or if the wound was self-inflicted. HCSO homicide and crime scene teams are currently investigating that question.
According to another account, the man was shot in the back, flipped his car, and was found dead on the scene of the accident. Investigators still do not know who shot the man or whether he was shot while driving.
This story is still developing and new information is expected to come to light over the next few days.
