October 31, 2018

According to news reports, the house was supposed to be uninhabited, but there was a man inside who died in the blaze.

October 31, 2018 – 10:50 am: An unidentified man was killed in a house fire in southeast Houston on Wednesday morning.

The fire took place at 10410 Mykawa Road in Houston, where the Houston Fire Department was called in for a warehouse fire just before 11:00 in the morning.

Although the original call was for a warehouse fire, it was in fact a three-bedroom home burning. According to HFD spokesperson Sheldra Brigham, “According to the owner, the home was supposed to be abandoned.”

The fire was put out soon after the Fire Department arrived. The body of a 60 to 65-year-old man was found in the building. Presumably, he was killed in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, as is the identity of the decedent. The Homicide Division of the Houston Police Department is investigating the event, although that does not mean the case has been ruled a homicide.

The fire is still being investigated at this time.
