According to MySA, a major accident in South Houston resulted in the death of a female driver on Thursday, August 2, 2018.
August 2, 2018 – 2 am: A woman was driving her Volkswagen Beetle Convertible east between 9th and 10th Streets on Spencer Highway – a few blocks west of S. Allen-Genoa Road. The South Houston Police Department reports that the driver drifted into the oncoming lane and crashed into another vehicle.
The driver of the other vehicle, which was a Ford Mustang, was in serious condition and transported to a local hospital. The VW driver who caused the crash was gravely injured and pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, authorities do not know whether she was impaired or why she drifted out of her designated lane.
