Driver Seriously Injured after Hitting Tree

According to witnesses on the scene, the man was rescued when his vehicle burst into flames after hitting the tree.

April 23, 2019 – 9:00 pm: An older man was taken to Ben Taub Hospjtal in critical condition after hitting a tree in his Scion tC on Tuesday night near Katy in west Harris County. The man’s car reportedly burst into flames, and he was rescued by a half-dozen bystanders on the scene of the accident.

The accident took place on the 900 block of Westgreen. The man reportedly lost control of his vehicle, hitting a tree in the median.

Bystanders were able to pull the man out of the vehicle before firefighters arrived. He was rushed to Ben Taub hospital in critical condition.

No one else was hurt in the crash, and no other vehicles were involved in the accident. The man’s identity has not been made available to the public at this time. It is unclear why the man lost control of the vehicle while driving, leading up to the accident.

The crash is still under investigation at the present time. More information will be made available to the public as it comes to light.
