Four Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Topsey

News reports state that three students were injured in the crash, along with the driver of the other vehicle.

September 21, 2018 – 11:35 am: Three students in one vehicle and one man in a second vehicle were injured and hospitalized after a crash late Friday morning in Topsey, Texas.

The accident took place at the intersection of FM 1113 and FM 580, between a 1993 Toyota pickup and a 2012 Chevrolet pickup.

The Toyota was traveling westbound on FM 1113. It was driven by a 16-year-old boy, carrying a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy as passengers. The Chevrolet was driving northbound on FM 580.

According to the police report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Toyota pulled into the intersection and the vehicles crashed.The three students were taken to the hospital with what the authorities described as “incapacitating injuries.” The driver was taken to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, while the other two students were taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

The Chevrolet’s driver, 58-year-old Rickey Jones of Marble Falls, was taken to an unknown hospital with unspecified injuries.

The crash is still being investigated at this time. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
