Two Killed in South Austin Crash

According to police, the driver failed to yield the right of way, leading to an accident that killed both him and his passenger.

April 2, 2019 – 10:00 pm: Garret Davis, 27, and his passenger Keaton Carmley, also 27, were both killed in a crash that took place on Wednesday in south Austin. Police report that the driver of the truck that hit them suffered minor injuries in the accident.

The crash took place on the 500 block of East Slaughter Lane. Davis was driving a 2017 Subaru Forester eastbound at the time of the crash. The other driver, who has not been publicly identified, was driving a westbound 1996 Chevrolet pickup.

Davis was making a left turn into the apartment complex at 517 East Slaughter lane at the time of the crash. He is reported to have failed to yield the right of way to the oncoming pickup, leading to the crash.

Both Davis and Carmley were killed in the accident, and the pickup’s driver received minor injuries. The driver of the pickup was wearing a seat belt, and police report that they do not expect to file charges against the driver.

The accident is still under investigation at the present time.
