Pakistani TV Host Killed in Accident on SW Freeway

According to news reports, the man was a Pakistani TV host of a cricket-themed TV show.

October 16, 2018 – 2:13 pm: Khurram Ibrahim was killed in a major crash with an 18-wheeler that shut down traffic for several hours on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident took place on the southbound part of U.S. 59 Southwest Freeway, near Harwin. Houston Police report that all lanes of southbound SW Freeway were closed for several hours after the crash.

According to friends, Ibrahim was headed home from a funeral when the crash happened. His vehicle ended up beneath the big rig, shearing off the top half of his vehicle.

In the aftermath of the crash, twisted metal and shards of glass were left behind, and many drivers were trapped on the freeway while they waited for the area to be cleared. Drivers on the scene told reporters it took over two hours to make it from the site of the crash to Westpark on U.S. 59.

News reports state that Ibrahim is survived by a wife and three children and that his funeral services are planned for this Friday.

The accident is still under investigation at this time.
