October 9, 2018 – 9:00 am: One person was injured on Tuesday morning when a white truck hit a building in southwest Houston.

The crash took place at the corner of Elm and Mapleridge streets, injuring one person inside the building. The location appears to be the headquarters of a local delivery service.

There is currently no word on the condition of the individual who was injured in the crash, and police have also not yet released their identity. The identity of the truck’s driver has not been made public, either.

Police state that the truck’s driver mistook the vehicle’s gas pedal for the brake, leading to the accident. Damage to the building is reportedly minor. The building’s walls were thin enough that the truck was able to go through easily, but the vehicle was not going fast enough to seriously hurt the victim of the crash.

Fortunately for all involved, there were no fatalities in this accident. Single vehicle crashes led to 1,313 deaths in Texas in 2017, accounting for more than one in three traffic deaths last year.
