Houston Woman’s Body Found Bitten by Dogs

February 8, 2019

According to news reports, it is unclear whether the woman’s two Doberman Pinschers were involved in her death.

February 8, 2019 – 8:15 am: Elaine Richman, 66, was found dead in the backyard of her home in west Houston on Friday morning. She appeared to have been bitten several times by dogs, although it is uncertain whether her dogs were involved in the death.

Richman’s body was discovered in the backyard of her home, near the intersection of Susanna Lane and Longvine Drive.

Houston Police were conducting a welfare check on Richman, after receiving reports that she hadn’t appeared at her dog training classes for two days. Richman had a pair of Doberman pinschers, which she trained and routinely entered in dog shows.

Richman was found with the two dogs on the property and marks of several dog bites on her arms, hands, and face. According to preliminary autopsy reports, the cause of death was a sharp force injury.

Richman’s neighbor, Robert Amie, said, “They were trained so well from what I saw. It’s hard for me to believe that they would attack her, but, you know, I don’t know.”

Elaine Richman’s death is still under investigation.
