Two Injured in Crash on W. Highway 31

According to news reports, the accident involved a dump truck and a pickup, and the cause of the crash is still unknown at this time.

October 1, 2018 – 11:15 am: Mark Roller, 29, and Theresa Germain, 35, both of Corsicana, were injured on Monday morning when the pickup Roller was driving hit a dump truck.

The accident took place on Highway 31, just west of SW CR 1005, according to Staff Sgt. Sara Warren, spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Roller and Germain were riding eastbound on the highway in a white 2004 Chevrolet pickup, when for an as yet unknown reason they hit the rear end of a 2004 Mack dump truck. The Mack truck was also headed eastbound at the time.

The Chevrolet came to a stop in the middle of the roadway, while the Mack truck parked on the right shoulder of the road.

Both Roller and Germain were injured in the crash and taken by helicopter to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. The Mack truck driver was not injured in the accident.

The causes of this accident are still unknown at this time, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
