February 11, 2019 – 1:00 pm: A building that used to house an adult entertainment business collapsed on Monday afternoon, injuring a driver who was passing the building at the time.

The collapse took place on Monday afternoon, near the intersection of Fulton Street and East Crosstimbers Street. Deputy Chief Mike Sangl of the Houston Fire Department reports that the business, called “Play House,” had been closed for about two months.

The 54-year-old driver, who was passing the building in his SUV, received minor injuries when the force of the collapse sent cinder blocks in the direction of his vehicle. The unidentified driver was taken to the hospital and is recovering well.

Sangl reports that the Fire Department has not found any signs that the collapse was the result of arson, and that no one appears to have been inside the building at the time of the collapse. When he was asked whether he was suspicious that anyone caused the collapse, Sangl said, “I have no reason to be suspicious.”

The collapse is still under investigation at the present time.
