Corpus Christi Driver Injured in Rollover Crash

According to news reports, the driver tried to flee the scene after the crash, because he was not insured.

 

February 8, 2019 – 10:30 am: A driver in Corpus Christi received minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash that took place because of driver error on Friday morning. The driver tried to flee the scene of the accident on foot because he was not insured, but was taken into custody. He is going to face citations for failing to maintain his lane and not having valid insurance.

The crash took place on the 1400 block of Waldron Road in Corpus Christi. The driver was trying to enter an occupied lane of traffic, at which time he over-corrected.

When the driver over-corrected, his vehicle went off the road and hit a utility pole, causing the vehicle to roll over. Fortunately, the driver received only minor injuries in the rollover, and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The identity of the driver has not been made public at this time. He was treated for minor injuries at the scene of the accident. Police are still investigating the accident and will release further information as it becomes available.
