Houston Attorney Josh Mintz

Attorney Josh MintzAttorney Josh Mintz serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Terry Bryant Law Firm. As a former BigLaw transactional attorney with a background in the corporate sector, Josh is able to identify and implement strategic opportunities to drive results for the firm and its clients, while also leading the team to deliver best-in-class service.

With his sharp legal mind, keen analytic skills, and out-of-the-box thinking, Josh works tirelessly to ensure the firm is executing at its highest level at all times. He is an astute listener, a compassionate counselor, and a man who ends each day with a sense of accomplishment.

Josh is a native Houstonian who grew up in a family of lawyers. As a young child, he got his first taste of helping injury victims and running a personal injury trial law firm through regular stints at the main office of Beaumont-based Waldman & Smallwood – founded and led by Josh’s grandfather, the late Carl Waldman.

Josh spent much of his childhood in Southwest Houston, in and around Meyerland and Fondren Southwest/Brays Oaks, along with a few years in Galveston. Following the passing of his mother, the late Bari Joan Waldman Mintz, Josh moved to Kingwood in 1990 and later graduated in the top of his class from Kingwood High School in 1996. He spent his first half of college at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) as part of the LSA Honors Program, before transferring to the University of Texas (Austin) and graduating with a B.A. in 2000. He majored in Government with two minors in Business and History. Josh obtained his Juris Doctorate from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco in 2003.

Since then, Josh has developed a rare mix of expertise as both a lawyer and businessperson in a wide variety of professional organizations, including the California firm Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, the Am Law 100 international law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, and the Beaumont-based injury firm Waldman & Smallwood. He supplemented this experience with several years managing multimillion-dollar business segments for retailers UncommonGoods and Design Within Reach, and the media company behind Dwell magazine.

Attorney Josh MintzAfter several years in New York City, Josh returned home to Houston and took the reins as COO at Terry Bryant Law Firm. As COO, his role extends to marketing, finance, human resources, technology management, and administration. Together with Mr. Bryant, Josh is in the trenches of the business – at all times – whether to solve problems, help new callers, or build the firm’s size and scope. Josh is proud of the work the firm does on behalf of its clients.

“We work extremely hard to deliver great results through attorney-driven service – supplemented by support, often behind-the-scenes, by a disciplined team that sincerely enjoys helping people. We want people to think of us as their personal lawyer, and where saving our number in the phone – or keeping our business card in their wallet – gives them peace of mind.”

Josh takes tremendous pride in the formidable reputation Mr. Bryant and the Terry Bryant firm has earned – within the community and the legal industry alike – by winning cases on behalf of its clients. There’s nothing more satisfying to him than getting justice for those who have been wronged.

“Each and every successful recovery is a victory. But I am especially proud when our clients – at the very end of the case – have to say such amazing things about our attorneys and staff. And later, when these same clients refer their family and friends back to our firm.”

Josh lives with his wife, dermatologist Dr. Emily Mintz, and their two sons and a daughter in Houston.
